The Hispanic Digital Library is the digital library of the Biblioteca Nacional de España. It provides to thousands of digitized documents, including books printed from the 15th to the 19th century (including editions of Don Quixote), manuscripts, drawings, engravings, photographs, maps, atlases, music scores, historic newspapers and audio recordings.
The Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes offers a wide variety of electronic Spanish texts on historical and literary topics, including Miguel de Cervantes, children's literature, hagiography, travel narratives, and more. Searchable by author, title, or through various thematic portals.
Indexes 2,400 scholarly Spanish and Basque language journals, book chapters, and dissertations. It provides access to more than six million open access documents.
Collection of encoded electronic texts devoted to Latin American and Iberian works in the humanities. Currently, the series holds over 40 titles in Spanish and Portuguese that cover a wide array of works from Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal that span from the medieval to the contemporary period.
The Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, CSIC) is the largest public research organization in Spain. There are numerous downloadable free e-books (but not all the books are available for free).
