New York Times Back Issues

Want to search back issues of the New York Times? You can do this via the New York Times Machine. Content in the New York Times Machine is available from 1851 to December of 2002. Note: users are limited to 5 accesses per day for the date range 1923-1980.

To search content, you can either enter your search terms by clicking on the magnifying lens in the top right corner of your screen, or you can browse individual issues of the paper by selecting an individual date in the "select an issue" box near the bottom of your screen:

Content in the New York Times Machine is only available from 1851 - 2002. To search all New York Times content, click on the magnifying glass on the top left of your New York Times home screen and enter your search terms:
