Items from Google Scholar must be transferred one citation at a time. Google Scholar citations are often messy, requiring manual clean-up and addition of missing fields. (Sometimes it’s just easier to locate the item within the library’s databases and import the reference from there.)
- Go to the Google Scholar home page at https://scholar.google.com/
- Click on the menu button (represented by three horizontal lines in the upper left corner) and choose Settings.
- Under Bibliography Manager select the option Show links to import citations into and then choose EndNote in the drop-down box. Click on the Save button.
- Run your search in Google Scholar and then click on the Import into EndNote link for the reference you want to import.
- In EndNote Online, select the Collect tab then Import references. In the Import window, select the file you just downloaded. Choose the Import Option: EndNote Import. Select the To: group from the drop-down menu then click the Import button.
