Kanopy

Kanopy Streaming offers a variety of documentary and feature film from an impressive array of producers and distributors including BBC Active, California Newsreel, Criterion Collection/Janus films, Documentary Educational Resources, First Run Features, Green Planet Films, Kino Lorber Edu, Media Education Foundation, National Film Board of Canada, PBS, Psychotherapy.net, and the DEFA Film Library's (East) German Film Collection. Thousands of films are available as part the library’s subscription. Other titles may be discovered and requested for library purchase through the Kanopy interface.

 Closed Captioning:

Many films have closed captioning, and Kanopy is in the process of adding more every month. You can limit to only captioned films through Advanced Search. Please contact the library if you need closed captioning for a particular title, and we can request captioning.

 

 

Kanopy : System Requirements

Desktop users should view films in the Chrome browser.  Visit the Google Chrome website to download the latest version of Chrome

If you experience playback issues, try updating Flash Player on your computer.  Visit the Adobe Flash Player website to download the latest version of Flash.

All videos from Kanopy can be embedded into WebCampus (Canvas) or other authenticated university web pages by using the Share/Embed button below the video player. Simply copy and paste the code provided. No need to worry about whether or not our EZproxy information is included in the link. The Kanopy platform is uniquely set up to detect IPs and prompt for login when accessed from off-campus.
